WHAT IS DAFI?
In 1992, the Government of Germany initiated the Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative (DAFI) in p a rt n e r s h i p with UNHCR. The program grants scholarships to d e s e r v i n g y o u n g r e f u g e e s a t universities, colleges, and polytechnics in their host countries. The DAFI fund provides opportunities for refugees to continue tertiary education. Since 1992, in Pakistan 1,700 refugee students have benefitted from the scholarship programme.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Valid POR card holder
- Age: 17 to 30 years
- Holding a 12th-grade certificate
- Enrolled in HEC-recognized institutions
- At least 60% marks in the last examination
- The only beneficiary of DAFI from his/ her family
- No previous academic scholarship
- Demonstrated motivation to contribute to the community
- Interest in a field of study that is relevant to the job market, with a high probability of employment
The last date to apply is 8th September 2023

The DAFI scholarships are advertised every year depending on the availability of funds.
