Mansoor Rahimi’s Academic Journey Beyond Boundaries – Elite Refugees

This is MANSOOR RAHIMI, my educational journey has been a testament to perseverance and dedication. Completing my Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Finance at CUSIT Peshawar on the weekends was a proud accomplishment, marked by a commendable CGPA of 3.80. My commitment to excellence was evident from my earlier academic pursuits, having earned a BS in Accounting and Finance with a noteworthy CGPA of 3.88 in 2022. The journey toward professional accreditation has been a steady one, holding 9th Papers of ACCA exemption with just 4 more papers to attain ACCA membership. In the early stages of my educational voyage, I secured the 9th position in the KP Pakistan Technical Board during D.COM-II and achieved the 4th position in DIT certification in the same board back in 2017. These milestones not only reflect my academic achievements but also highlight my passion for continuous learning and pursuit of excellence.

Growing up, I witnessed my family struggling to make ends meet. The financial burden was particularly heavy, and it seemed almost impossible for me to pursue higher education. Despite my passion for higher studies in Accounting and Finance, I had to put my dreams on hold due to financial constraints. I felt disheartened and discouraged, as I saw my peers moving forward in their academic pursuits while I remained stagnant.

The hardship endured by my parents is something that has deeply impacted me. I vividly recall the days when my father used to work as a taxi driver and later on the Torkham line, often leaving for work before dawn. Witnessing his relentless dedication and sacrifice filled my heart with both sadness and sorrow. However, this experience served as a powerful motivation for me to work harder and pursue my education with unwavering determination.

In my journey towards obtaining a BS in Accounting and Finance from City University of Science and Information Technology Peshawar, I faced numerous challenges and uncertainties. My life was marked by financial instability, making it difficult to pursue my education and achieve my goals. However, amidst the hardships, I found a ray of hope in the form of the DAFI Germany program, which provided me with the necessary financial assistance to continue my studies. I am grateful for the opportunities DAFI provided me during my BS in Accounting and Finance degree to broaden my knowledge beyond the academic curriculum.

Inspired by my father’s unwavering commitment to our family’s well-being and support of the DAFI program, I decided to establish an academy in my father’s honor. Named “RAHIMI QURAN ACADEMY”, “RAHIMI WRITING”, “RAHIMI ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND COMPUTER ACADEMY,” these educational institutions aim to empower students by providing them with comprehensive Quranic and Hadith Studies, Research assistance, writing and English language and computer skills for foreigners, community and Afghan youth and children.

Following the completion of my degree with the support of DAFI Germany, I embarked on a new chapter in my life by establishing a welfare organization called “SAVE the Children with Education” in Peshawar. The primary objective of this initiative is to provide educational support to Afghan children residing in Khazana Camp, Naguman Camp, and Hajizai Camp. I am grateful to DAFI for once again recognizing the importance of education and awarding me a small grant to further this cause.

Driven by a hunger for knowledge and a desire to reach greater heights, I embarked on a relentless pursuit of scholarships to pursue my Master’s degree in Europe. During this pursuit, I began an MBA program at CUSIT Peshawar to make the most of my time. It was during this period that I applied enthusiastically for the DAAD scholarship, leveraging my academic achievements and unwavering dedication. Alhamdulillah, on 18/07/2023, I was honored to receive the fully-funded DAAD scholarship, paving the way for me to pursue a Master’s in International Management in Germany.

In a moment of immense joy, I was also awarded the HANNS Scholarship Germany in Pakistan, providing vital financial support until the completion of my MBA. As my MBA in finance draws to a close on 25 February 2024, I eagerly anticipate the commencement of my Master’s program in Germany on 1 March 2024, supported by the esteemed DAAD scholarship.
