International Conference on Afghan Migrants’ Mental Health

We are excited to share an upcoming event that holds immense significance for Afghan migrants and their host communities. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the National Institute of Psychology (NIP) and Quaid-i-Azam University Pakistan, have collaborated to organize the International Conference on “Fostering Empowerment Through Psychological Care, Safety, and Protection Among Afghan Migrants.” This conference, scheduled to take place on 18th-19th July 2023 at Serena Hotel, Peshawar, promises to shed light on crucial aspects of mental health and psychosocial support for Afghan migrants.

One of the primary objectives of the conference is to highlight the impact of trauma and displacement on the mental health of Afghan migrants. By exploring this critical issue, the conference aims to generate awareness and promote effective strategies to restore safety, control, and protection in the lives of these individuals. The event boasts a comprehensive agenda, including a pre-conference workshop on the first day, keynote speeches from distinguished guests, engaging panel discussions, and oral and poster presentations from various disciplines. This diverse range of activities ensures a comprehensive exploration of the subject matter, fostering a multidimensional understanding of the challenges and potential solutions.
