I am Rohullah Safi from Kunar province in Afghanistan. My family was forced to flee from Kunar due to the ongoing war. We settled in the Dargai Afghan Refugee Camp in Malakand Agency, Pakistan. I was born there in 1997 and received my preliminary education at a refugee school in the Dargai Camp.
In 2016, I graduated from Nangrahar High School in Afghanistan and was awarded the Allama Iqbal Scholarship for Afghan Nationals by the Pakistani government. With the help of this scholarship, I completed my undergraduate studies in Environmental Sciences at Quaid-i-Azam University.
In 2022, I had the opportunity to participate in a study trip to Germany on Urban Sustainability, organized by the Hanns Seidel Stiftung. This experience provided me with new ideas and inspired me to find solutions for our common challenges.
As a responsible global citizen and a committed environmentalist, I am working for environmental protection, climate change mitigation, and sustainability for the betterment of society, and nature and to make our societies greener, cleaner, and sustainable. Additionally, I have worked as a Project Associate Intern with CHIP Training and Consulting on projects in collaboration with UNICEF, ADB, and GIZ in Pakistan. I also served as a Field Researcher in a World Bank project focused on Community-Based Waste Management. At Quaid-i-Azam University, I held various positions such as President of the Afghan Students Society and Media Coordinator for the Green Youth Movement Club. Moreover, I have volunteered with organizations including WWF Pakistan, Friends of Environment, Quaidian Environmental Society, and the Global Youth Biodiversity Network. Furthermore, I was a member of the QAU volleyball team and won a gold medal. In Afghanistan, I worked as an English teacher at Hewad and Shamshad Educational Centers, and I also volunteered with Afghan Youth Connect and the Global Connection and Exchange Program.
Despite focusing on my studies, I have always endeavored to earn money and support myself financially without burdening my family. To achieve this, I started freelancing on Fiverr in 2020. I offer online services such as English to Pashto & Dari Translation, administrative tasks, and environmental content writing. I am currently a level two seller on Fiverr, and it has helped me support my studies and cover other expenses.
